Before the Living God

This book is the autobiography of a contemplative Carmelite nun and author of outstanding books on prayer. It is an account of a life empty of outward incident after her early years but rich with her own spiritual growth. She writes of the Christians relationship with others and with God of prayer of the life of the Spirit. She writes of these ideals not in an abstract way but in the intensely personal terms of one personsher ownstruggle to live them to the full.
