Art at Our Doorstep: San Antonio Writers and Artists

About this book

Art at Our Doorstep: San Antonio Writers and Artists pays tribute to the citys vibrant creative community. A gathering of both literary and visual art the book features poetry fiction and creative nonfiction from writers who are closely associated with the city or who have been in years past. All capture the citys inimitable local culture with style intelligence and affection. Accompanying the writing are works of art by San Antonio artists creating a book in the style of Naomi Shihab Nyes Is This Forever or What? The images dont simply illustrate the text but instead complement it in an associative or aesthetic sense and all were selected by Riley Robinson one of the citys best-known curators. An engaging combination of literary and artistic excellence this handsome coffee-table book celebrates in words and images the city of San Antonio and its creative spirit.
