This is a hardcover book published without a dust jacket by Xerox Education Publications, Middletown, Connecticut as part of the Weekly Reader Childrens Book Club. The pages are not number and each page has a color illustrations. The author, Annette Tison, (1942---) is a French architect and writer, mainly known for being co-creator of the Barbapapa series with her American husband Talus Taylor. Barbapapa is both the title character and the name of his "species". He is a pear-shaped, pink shapeshifting blob-like creature who stumbles upon the human world and tries to fit in. he is married to Barbamama. They eventually produce seven children: Four sons: Barbabravo, Barbabright, Barbazoo, and Barbabeau, and three daughters: Barbalala, Barbabelle, and Barbalib. Google honored the family with a doodle on May 19, 2015, the 45th Anniversary of the creation of Barbapapa. In this book Barbapapa and his family build a rocket to save the endangered animals of the world. It is an early environmental story for younger readers.
