This book documents the diesel locomotives constructed by Baldwin Locomotive Works and models built by its successor, Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton. There were 3209 diesels constructed between 1925 and 1956, including those built under the Baldwin-Westinghouse (but not "Westinghouse" alone) name. The book covers the history of Baldwin, from Mathias Baldwin forward, so that the reader has a sense of the size and importance of the firm as the diesel age dawned and the giant Eddystone complex was opened.
