Johnson the Hill Country contains several parks and historic sites connected with the former president. The Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm contained within the Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site preserves a now-vanished way of life where costumed interpreters carry out the daily activities of a turn-of-the-century Texas-German farm family including the preparation of meals.
