About this book

Hank Vaughan 1849-1893: A Hell-Raising Horse Trader of the Bunchgrass Territory by Skovlin, Jon M.. paperback edition. ISBN: 9780964944916.

This is the first biography of Hank Vaughan, Oregons most energetic outlaw. He was a horse thief, gunman, desperado, gambler and a drunk, spreading his deeds from Nevada, through Idaho and into Oregon and Washington. Taking advantage of every available opportunity, he opened up one of the first wheat farms on the Umatilla Indian Reservation. When he met his untimely death, locals lamented the loss of one of the most daring of the reckless beings who gave the "wild west" its name.
