About this book
The book has been completely rewritten and restructured with the aim of making it an authoritative book on electrocardiography while retaining the characteristic didactic approach of Introduction to Electrocardiography. The book has been substantially revised to bring it up to date with current electrocardiographic knowledge. The book is now in two parts; the first covers the analysis of 12 lead patterns and the second the disorders of cardiac rhythm. Medical students learn cardiac physiology in the first year. Electrocardiography is the technique for diagnosing arrhythmias which are physiological disturbances to the pattern of the beat of the heart. The 12-lead is the normal technique. Cardiology is a major component of the students study of internal medicine and all doctors will be required to interpret ECGs at some time. Increasingly GPs or cardiac nurses especially in the US perform these procedures
