About this book

This is the first full-length biography of Irving Gill now considered to one of the most significant of early modern American architects. Trained in the office of Louis Sullivan of Chicago Gill spent most of his career in southern California where in the early 1900s he developed an original and radical simplification of Mission style architecture.
