This publication is a reissue of U.S. Bureau of Mines Information Circular 6964, originally issued in 1937, together with a reproduction of U.S.G.S. Bulletin 906-D, originally issued in 1939, authored by Eugene Callaghan. In November 1937 William O . Vanderburg issued information circular 6964 on Clark County. It was one of a series of circulars dealing with mining and milling operations in various mining districts in the Western States. All were published under the directions of the United States Bureau of Mines. The author set forth data on operating costs, grades of ore treated, wage scales, haulage rates, and information on mining properties from existing literature, mine operators, and local sources during the course of field work. This reprint of this circular gives us a picture of mining and milling operations in Clark County at the time of original publication.
