Dates are given for first recorded use as well as the reasons for the choice of names, and often other interesting information. Regrettably, the compiler, who is pleased to include "Whorehouse Meadow," omits mention of "Cock Rock," preferring the censorial "Rooster Rock" presumably a sop to Oregon bluenoses.
