About this book

Pass: Positive Approach to Student Success: Inclusion for Students with Behavior Disorders (Book with CD-ROM) by Hope Caperton-Brown. paperback edition. ISBN: 9781599090313.

Positive Approach to Student Success: Designed by a behavior specialist and a licensed psychologist who together have more than 40 years of educational experience, PASS was developed to serve students with serious emotional disturbances through individualized programming that incorporates "best practices." The PASS program is founded on the belief that children with emotional and behavioral disabilities benefit behaviorally from educational experiences with nonhandicapped peers and academically from participation in the general curriculum. PASS programming combines targeted and intensive social skills instruction with behavior monitoring and coaching. Emphasis within the program is on facilitating the students development ot self-management skills. A reliance on data-driven decision making is supported by program practices and software on the companion CD. PASS has been implemented in more than 50 schools in southeast and central Texas. Many schools with PASS programs have seen their ED/BD students experience academic and behavioral success in mainstream settings along with significant reductions in the number of students placed in more restrictive environments. INCLUDES CD OF EXTRAS WITH: PASS Tracker software (Excel spreadsheet); Reproducible forms shown in book; Examples of student portfolios, T-charts, and behavior analysis; Training materials (reproducibles for use in PASS training)
