The twenty-none stories in Soulstorm were originally published in two separate volumes in 1974―A Via Crucis do Corpo (The Stations of the Body) and Onde Estivestes de Noite (Where You Were at Night)―and are now combined and sensitively translated into English by Alexis Levitan. The realm of Lispectors fiction is the inner life; self-knowledge is her main concern.
