Instead Coppedge examines the principles of disciplemaking going before and beyond the how-to to the what- for. Why is God interested in disciplemaking? The author finds Gods purpose detailed in both the Old and the New Testaments namely to make a people for His own glory. Most books on discipling are concerned with implementation. They are aimed at motivating Christians to do something practical in response to the churchs need. But receiving less attention are the biblical and theological principles underlying the disciplemaking process. In this book the author examines Gods purposes and the ways they are spelled out in His Word.
