Jane Kenyon (1947 1995) was an American poet and translator. Her work is often characterized as simple spare and emotionally resonant. Kenyon was the second wife of poet editor and critic Donald Hall who made her the subject of many of his poems. Kenyon was born in Ann Arbor and graduated from the University of Michigan. Her poems appeared in many magazines including The New Yorker The Paris Review and The New Republic. She is the author of seven book of poetry including FROM ROOM TO ROOM (1978). She died at the young age of 48 from leukemia.
