The Earth-Sheltered House: An Architect's Sketchbook (Real Goods Solar Living Book)

The Earth-Sheltered House: An Architect's Sketchbook (Real Goods Solar Living Book) by Wells, Malcolm. paperback edition. ISBN: 9781890132194.

This book is a classic, written by a legend. Malcolm Wells has a fundamentally different way of looking at the design and building process, and his iconoclastic perspective has never been more apparent. Yet the message of The Earth-Sheltered House has struck many of its avid enthusiasts as pure common sense. Animals of all kinds (including most early humans, and even millions of people today) know that the best way to stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer is to insulate the living space with earth.
