About this book
The Ecological Health Garden & the Book of Survival by Szekely, Edmond Bordeaux. Paperback edition. ISBN: 9780895640727.
The main purpose of this volume is to introduce a system of food-growing that will enable people with little or no gardening experience to produce herbs, vegetables, cereals and fruits of the finest quality with a minimum of labor and a minimum of land. We term this system ecological gardening, since bio-ecological principles are applied both to the methods of cultivation used and in the selection of the food plants to be grown. The central aim is the production of plant-foods especially rich in minerals, vitamins and other nutritive elements, preferably within a pattern of living - creative country living - which will make it possible for the family to produce many of its own needs on a subsistence homestead, of which the ecological garden is an integral part.
