The King's Brat

The tempestuous tale of Angel Dawsons rise from the streets of London to the court of Charles II. Angel dressed in a cast-off gown her copper curls glistening in the sun presented herself at the kitchen door. She had a message to deliver to the Earl of Benbrook from his sister -- who had been beaten to death in Newgate Prison. The Earl of Benbrook gazed at the waif who had been kind to his dying sister. With a mixture of guilt and gratitude he vowed to turn the street wench into a lady. It was a task that would involve him with Angel far more deeply than he guessed and would change her far more than she dreamed.
