The Mission: A Film Journal

The author is a Jesuit priest poet and advocate for denuclearization and peace. This book is his account of the making of "The Mission" (1986) the film that re-creates the splendor and eventual tragic demise of the Jesuit Republic in 18th century South America. Berrigan appeared briefly in the film which was directed by Roland Joff and starred Robert De Niro and Jeremy Irons. He plays a Jesuit priest and served as a consultant on the film.
