Being a native of Oklahoma and long time resident of Tulsa I appreciate Eddie Faye Gates revealing more of the history which had remained sealed away too long. It is important that the race riot of 1921 be identified for what it was as defined by the Red Crosss representative from St. Louis. He is quoted as saying that he was convinced the riot was a conspiracy spawned by greedy and corrupt businessmen" He also placed blame on "an inflammatory press". Recently I was in Tulsa and an editorial in the local paper stating that racism was still prevalent In the state which makes reading this book more important. ( Customer)
