1998 The world is dying. Decay in the oceans has brought ecological collapse. While famine and riots range out of control, a small group of scientists work feverishly to send a message to the past before it is too late... 1962 In sunny California, Gordon Bernstein, a young physics professor, conducts a routine experiment with highly unusual results. As he gradually accepts the certainty that hes receiving communication from the future, he must convince doubting colleagues and the rest of the world what is happening...to save themselves from a future that has already occurred.
