Elwood Babbitt is a trance medium through whom the spirits of famous persons such as Mark Twain, Einstein, and Wordsworth have spoken. For many years, spiritually minded people have sought him out for “life readings” in which he looks back through the individual’s past and previous lives and offers advice based on clairvoyant knowledge. Charles Hapgood has been studying’ Babbitt and his work for more than eight years. In his extraordinary book, he relates the phenomenon of trance mediums to recent research in parapsychology. He offers full-length transcripts of the communications which have come through trances, and interprets Babbitt’s spiritual teachings.
