Wilson Hurley is one of Americas foremost contemporary landscape artists. He has brought to his paintings his individual experiences, his career as a pilot, and his love of the Southwest. He works from his direct perceptions of nature, which are reflected on his canvas: vast expanses of sky, aerial views of the landscape, and personal involvement with his subject matter. To commemorate his 20 year career as an artist, the Buffalo Bill Historical Center , with the cooperation of The Albuquerque Museum assembled a retrospective exhibition featuring some of Hurleys finest works which are presented in this volume.
