Twelve projects are included in this book on woodcarving, showing how to complete them using a range of five numbered tools. By selecting the appropriate chisel for the type of cut needed, the reader can learn how to carve flowers, moulding, letters and numbers. Traditional motifs such as a Tudor rose and an acanthus panel are also featured. The book includes patterns for tracing, advice on tools and timber, as well as helpful tips and hints. It shows how designs can be incorporated into furniture, doors, lids, and chair backs, and how they can be used to decorate and embellish simple panels, boxes, and other objects.
